I don't really understand people who don't like animals. I think any compassionate person should be able to at least anthropomorphise in a humorous way. Ergo, I like this blog: Hungover Owls.

I loved painting my nails when I was a kid. It's probably the most girly thing I ever did. Of course, being a hyperactive child, I could only ever use peel-off polish, because regular polish was boring. Linda's Nail Art is anything but boring, though. Linda de Wit is a Dutch lady who likes to make her nails pretty. Her blog is fairly new (as of this post), but quite special to look at all the same. I've followed it in the hope that she continues to post cool, inspiring nail art.

Obüs is an Australian fashion label that creates the most simple, girly clothes and in some ways reminds me of MiniMarket. I recently bought a dress from their Winter collection - it could flatter...

I had my hens party on Independence Day. That was an accident. Amongst the popping bottles of champagne, cupcakes, clothes, goodie bags and gossip, I had fun with a little experiment I like to call...

My mum used to have these very 80s-looking recipe cards in a huge notebook that was just a compilation of all sorts of recipes - clippings from newspapers, magazines, friends' handwritten recipes. There was just something so organic about it. I had intended to buy her a recipe folder for her birthday so that she could get rid of her old notebook and organise them. Then I thought she wouldn't like that because I realised that she liked the notebook - the yellowing pages, some falling out and the cover falling off...

I love to bake and I am a true believer in baking in style. This means I crave kitchen utensils which I'll probably only use once, but I will appreciate them forever (even when they are shoved in a drawer only to see light again on moving day and then subsequent moving days). Not so with these ceramic measuring cups in the shape of kitties (a.k.a. Meow for Measuring Cups) from Modcloth - they are both incredibly adorable and super useful. They also make me want to go out and buy a cat to go with them, and I've always...

It's getting cold here in my city. Being in Perth, we don't get the bitter winters of England, Japan and northeastern USA, but people sensitive to bleak weather still feel the seasonal affects. Of course, the routine of daily life doesn't let up - it's busy, stressful and sometimes full of people who are mean. Everyone wants stuff done before the end of the financial year. I just want a break. :( Well. A holiday is still a long way off, but I managed to find a tiny taste of it in spoonful, an independently produced...

I really hate online window shopping when I am drunk. Because I buy things that I don't ever need. Latest victim were those very shoes to the right. Why did I decide that I must have them, then and there? Mainly because they look quirky, are ankle boots and are kind of a cute twist on the oxford shoe. Also, I love winter. Black, black and more black. Bring it on!

I bought a wedding dress late last year and I swore up and down that yes, I was doing to wear it on the day. However, just recently, I tried it on again and I realised that I didn't really feel comfortable in it. It is a beautiful vintage looking dress but it just didn't seem like me. Also, it was a little big in areas in which I was not - if you catch my drift. Well, like any woman who is about to get married without a dress I needed to solve this issue - and fast. I wandered into Merge in Subiaco and found this...
